The giant under the roof
The foot alone is about five metres high: Future visitors to the museum's southern wing will see an enormous human being under the roof. The impressive figure will be the centrepiece of a new exhibition on health and medicine.
The focus of the new permanent exhibition entitled "Health" will be on human beings – and not the science and technology behind advanced medicine and pharmaceutical research. The new exhibition, covering over 700 square metres, will include the history of medicine, but will be concerned with the clear and understandable presentation of present-day medicine, health research and state-of-the-art diagnostic technologies. From cardiovascular health to orthopaedic medicine, key areas of health will be examined. And of course each of those aspects will be presented at the appropriate location in the gigantic human figure. For children, an individual narrative will be mapped out in the form of a "kid's route".
