Bridges and Hydraulic Engineering

Experience the entire spectrum of traditional and modern engineering.

Solid and fluid, hard as stone and dynamic - the new exhibition on bridges and hydraulic engineering is set up as multifaceted as the civil engineering is. Water is running through bowls from the ceiling to the floor to attract visitors to the 1300 squaremeter room. The path leads on passing Germanys first steel building - a dog kennel by Conrad Freytag from 1884 - and over the swinging bridge  on to the reconstruction of the Simplon tunnel, an icon since the very first days of the museum. You are invited here to experience the entire spectrum of traditional and modern engineering with 120 original exhibits and models, demonstrations and media stations.
